Round 2 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Cup Series is now completed and we scored an overall 6th position for the team. We encountered a few challenges at the beginning of the weekend however, we only improved and moved forward every race, marking a solid result for myself and Attachment Warehouse Racing.
We started the weekend qualifying 14th, which was an average result, but we were able to race from there, picking up 8th position in race one under lights. Pretty amazing experience racing around Sydney Motorsport Park in the dark, the fans showed up and you could hear them loud and proud as I was racing down the front straight.
Race two and three on Sunday were successful, moving up to 7th than 6th, finishing our weekend with a big bag of points and leaving the round having moved up 15 positions in the championship.
We made significant gains over the course of the weekend and bounced back from an average qualifying. The new Toyota GR Cup cars are a whole new beast compared to the series car last year, it's been a massive learning curve for myself and the team, but I am confident with our progression and am looking forward to tackling this challenge further to come back stronger for Round 3 at Sandown Raceway in September.

Eyes forward for the Sandown 500, one of the bigger events on the calendar this year. It’s one of my favourite tracks and I’ve had great success there in the past, hoping to carry that forward for Round 3.
